Virtually all our guests remark
on the convenience of our location for getting about in Cornwall.
Although we are in the heart of the countryside, we are only about five
miles from Truro, Cornwall's only city, and a similar distance from the
towns of Falmouth and Redruth. The main East-West arterial route
through the county, the A30, is less than ten minutes drive away. Both
North and South coasts are within easy reach, and practically anything you
want to see or do in Cornwall can be reached within an hour by car.
However, for those not travelling
by car, or perhaps wanting a change from car travel while they are on
holiday, there are many other ways of getting about around here.
The
train is one
possibility We are also served by a combination of a local bus and minibus
service.
Truronian buses
run throughout the middle of the county and can be a stress-free way
of visiting some of the more popular attractions such as Eden, the Lizard
and St Mawes
The
Corlink minibus service will get you to and from the main bus routes, but needs to be booked at least one hour in advance, and can only
be booked when the Corlink office is open.
What about hiring a Morgan sports
car for a few days?
The garage is only a mile away over the hill.

Cycling is one of the best ways
to see Cornwall, especially since a network of cycle routes has been created
by Sustrans and
others, criss-crossing the county. We can collect you and your bike(s)
from the train or coach stations, or the airport, on your arrival. If you don’t bring a bike with you,
you can hire one at competitive rates from our
local helpful
hire shop on the Mineral Tramways cycle route, just a few
hundred yards down the road from us.

Cornwall is great walking country
too, whether you choose the extensive coast path walks, public footpaths and
bridle paths or simply the many pretty and quiet lanes that surround us.
